Here at Backwoods Recording Studio
our main service is creating Songwriter Demo’s
and Artist Projects. Songwriters from all over
the country send their songs to us as rough
mixes, on a cassette, CD or MP3 {through Email},
that they have recorded at home, and then we
take that idea produce and capture the idea into
a finished, professional song demo that can be
used to pitch to artists or publishing
companies, or many use them to sell at there
gigs.
Come visit us and let us help you create your
project in a private in home-relaxed atmosphere.
The studio is situated on four wooded acres in a
quiet peaceful setting. There are also many
restaurants and hotel accommodations located
within two miles.
Our goal is to help, encourage and provide the
best service to meet your needs.

FAQ'S
How many tracks can you record at one time?
We can record as many as 8 tracks at one time
using the Presonus Firepod Firewire Interface, but
up to 128 tracks through Cubase SL 2.0 . Now with
our new control room and Drum room we can now track
full demo's live, that means your basic tracks Drums,
Bass, Keys, Electric Guitar, all at once then come
back for overdubs.
How many hours is a day rate?
A typical block out day rate is 8 hours
$200.00
a day.
What format does
Backwoods Studio record with ?
The only format we run is at the
present is Cubase SL 2.0 software
(a great format system available at this time)
Does Backwoods Studio provide mastering?
A note about mastering
We live in the digital age. The DAW or ( Digital
Audio Workstation) and various plug-ins
available today have made just about everyone a
"mastering engineer". BWS DOES NOT provide mastering
services. This is a very specialized skill, using very
specialized and very expensive equipment. In addition,
mastering rooms are acoustically tuned for this function.
This is well beyond the scope of any home studio and
certainly most individuals.
I have found that many
"mastering houses" simply run your mix through a
mastering finalizer such as a BBE Sonic Maximizer or TC
Electronics Finalizer or spatial enhancers. This is not
mastering, it is artificially boosting frequencies. If
your music is simply for your own listening pleasure or
work demos these units are fine. If you are looking to
bring your music to market, I suggest you have your
music mastered by a reputable mastering house.
We run all of our demos through Sound Forge 8.0 for
finalizing & Waves Plugins , which sets levels and EQ'S for final
project, if you want additional mastering we can provide
you with sources for that if needed many great ones here
in town.
Does
Backwoods Studio record all styles of music?
We track mostly Acoustic,
Country , Folk, Christian Country,Gospel, Bluegrass,
but we are always open to other styles, but
this seems to be our nitch for now.
How long with it take for
Backwoods
Studio
to complete my song demo?
The whole process normally takes 1-2 weeks
from the time we receive your submission to the time
you will receive the demo in the mail or email. If
you order multiple songs, the process might take a
little longer. remember, you are more than welcome
to email us to check the status of your demo order.
We will send small mp3 sample clips to make
sure you know how it is sounding.
Does Backwoods Recording Studio pitch music to
publishers and writers?
No. We are simply a recording
studio not a
publisher or record label.
Can Backwoods Studio provide studio musicians?
Yes. We have a roster of some of
the finest musicians
working in and around the Nashville area.
Does Backwoods Studio accept credit card payments?
No not at this time only take Paypal,
Money Orders, Checks & Cash
(CREDIT CARDS COMING !)
What
is the wait time for blocking out the studio?
If the studio is currently
not booked there is always a lead time of one week
prior to the session booked.
